Ioco Ghost Town Day 2023

The Port Moody Heritage Society celebrates the history of the Ioco Townsite through Ioco Ghost Town Day 2023.

Guests will be able to wander around the area and learn about the history of the townsite through a self guided walking tour. The Community Hall will be open for viewing and Imperial Oil will be on site to talk about the refinery. There will be lots going on at the Inlet United Church that day; Expect Exceptional Theatre will be performing twice during the day at the Inlet United Church and in between performances there will be tours of the historic building and a short film about the townsite.

Expect Exceptional Theatre Company will be performing, The Knitting Circle a period melodrama. Show times will be at 12:30pm and 2:00pm. (Free) tickets are required to attend the Expect Exceptional Theatre performances at the Inlet United Church.

Walk into a hundred-year-old building where the community held countless social events and get a glimpse back into the past

Get a breath of fresh air as you walk throughout the Ioco Townsite learning the history through our self- guided walking tour

 

INLET UNITED CHURCH

12:00 - 12:30pm  

Guests will enjoy a tour of the historic church building and a short film on the history of IOCO

12:30pm and 2:00pm showings

Expect Exceptional Theatre Performances (free, tickets required)

A period melodrama called The Knitting Circle which focuses on life in the area in late 1800’s. Free tickets required, - book yours now via Eventbrite.

3:00pm - 4:00pm

IMPERIAL OIL LTD

Representatives will be on site to discuss the history of the refinery and meet the community
